As the preening teenage reveler Costa in Project X, Oliver Cooper certainly proved adept at getting in too deep — his performance even won him two MTV Movie Award nominations. But now the 22-year-old actor will get a taste of what it really means to go too far, signing on to star opposite Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck in the gambling thriller Runner Runner. Timberlake plays Richie Furst, a Princeton student who gets pulled into the world of online gambling in order to help bankroll his expensive education. Cooper will play Andrew Cronin, a twentysomething Ivy League computer nerd who gets hired along with Furst to work for Ivan Block (Ben Affleck), an online gambling billionaire who works out of Costa Rica and whose business is even less legitimate than it first seems. “He’s kind of the young guy in this crazy world,” Cooper tells EW. “He really represents the innocence of someone who would get into gambling.” source: EW |

From mediaite: Saturday Night Live celebrated a momentous landmark this weekend: their 100th digital short. Naturally, a “celebration of us” was in order — and a star-studded one at that, with Justin Bieber joining in. The crew took a look at some of their memorable digital short moments from the past, from Justin Timberlake‘s appearances to Lady Gaga and Jon Hamm. Musical guest Usher popped in to note he’d never been in a digital short, before Will Ferrell crashed the party to brag about his impressive SNL record. They made it through 100 digital shorts, they said, “so tonight we’re sucking our own dicks.”
Well that was a very pleasant surprise. The Biebs was totally not necessary but it was still cool. What did you guys think ? |

These days, fame has a tendency to metastasize, producing strange outgrowths that are often called “collaborations.” Is it a surprise, then, that Justin Timberlake — who has already ventured into fashion and Memphis-style barbecue — would follow in Lenny Kravitz’s footsteps and design a home collection? Probably not. But it is refreshing that the entertainer’s enthusiasm for home décor appears to be rather genuine. “I do love a stripe,” he confessed to The Moment on Wednesday, while showing off the first parts of his HomeMint collection: a series of rather anodyne throw pillows. Timberlake was sitting on a sofa in a suite in the Mercer Hotel, surrounded by his variously patterned puffs: paisleys, stripes and mazes. He designed them all with his partner in this venture, Estee Stanley, a fashion stylist and interior designer. Each month, more products designed by the duo will roll out; dishes, bedding and towels are among the categories to go on sale next. “Honestly,” Timberlake said, “what excites me the most is to get to the point of designing rugs.” HomeMint is the fifth “Mint,” following similar collaborations in the realms of fashion (with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) and jewelry (with Kate Bosworth and Cher Coulter). The parent company, BeachMint, was founded in 2010 and is run by Josh Berman, who was a co-founder of MySpace. Each Mint includes unique objects designed by the site’s creative minds, not to mention a host of other sellable stuff that is “curated” by them. In Timberlake and Stanley’s case, that includes dishes by Canvas and assorted artworks, including a $600 signed photograph of the Brooklyn Bridge that Timberlake took himself. Stanley and Timberlake first intersected when she was styling ‘N Sync music videos in the 1990s. “It was so much fun,” she said of her boy band days. “It was the most fun of my life, probably.” “That makes one of us,” he added. The pair made their more significant aesthetic bond after Timberlake hired Stanley to design the interiors of his houses in Los Angeles and New York. “I think I was the only client she ever had — I know, out of the males, but probably out of the female clients, too — that literally wanted to know every detail,” he said. “I’m really into the bare bones of things. I care about hardware. If you come to my houses, every single piece of hardware I picked out.” Still, Timberlake required a bit of convincing before embarking on this project. “You gave me half a bottle of wine before you asked me,” he said to Stanley. “And then I wanted to do everything. To go to Disney World. Immediately.” Naturally, Timberlake said, he expects skepticism from those already inclined to view this move into home decorations as little more than dilettantish dabbling. “I think people love to hate,” he said. “You know, there’s so many closet rock stars in the movie industry. And there’s so many closet actors in the music industry. And I just chose not to be either.” Asked then if he considers himself a closeted interior designer, Timberlake said: “No. And I wouldn’t have done this if it wasn’t for Estee. But I know what I like, and I know when I have an eye for something.” source: nytimes |

by Melissa Hawks Yesterday, I was in New York City where I visited with international style icon and superstar Justin Timberlake and his interior designer, Estee Stanley, to preview their new collection of home goods called HomeMint. The duo have partnered to not only create and curate this new collection, but have also launched an interesting shopping experience at www.homemint.com. Members can join HomeMint for a monthly fee and receive discounted pricing on purchases. Upon joining the website, users take a quick survey that establishes their “Style Profile” and each month, Justin and Estee select the perfect pieces to match the users style. Shoppers can also browse the entire collection, but recommended picks will be highlighted. Justin noted that there is nothing like a woman’s touch in a home — but that there is nothing girly in the collection. He has added a very slight masculine touch to the collection – to the dinnerware, cutting boards, blankets and throws -and has brought his love of photography to HomeMint. He has not only curated the collection, but taken some of the photos himself. Justin has debuted two of his Manhattan collection pieces with HomeMint. Shot using front lighting, one is called “Uptown” and one is called “Downtown”. Only 50 pieces are available of each and they are signed by Justin. He noted in the interview yesterday that he knows so many artists, sketch artists, photographers, etc. that people wouldn’t know about or hear about (he said a lot are in Los Angeles) and part of the fun for him is introducing shoppers to these great sources at reasonable prices. One fun one is photographer and internationally renowned professional surfer Daniel Fuller. Justin selected a fabulous photograph done by Daniel of of the beach at 3 a.m. using a unique technique, priced at $149.99. HomeMint includes a private collection (pieces created exclusively by the duo), unique finds (hard to find pieces and rugs), art (by Justin and emerging artists) and collaborations with artisans from around the world. Their website includes linen day blankets and towels by Brahms Mount (A textile weaving company based in Hallowell, Maine), tableware by Canvas (A New York based design company dedicated to sustainable designs), Bedding, Towels and Table Linens by Matteo (an LA based design studio and workshop), Baskets by Medina (hand woven in villages in Morocco, Ghana, Mexico and Bangladesh from renewable palm fibers) — and Pillows by HomeMint. The pillows are designed by Justin and Estee and are manufactured in Los Angeles. source: Well Appointed House (Here you can view pictures from the collection that were taken at the Mercer hotel) |

Justin Timberlake found his latest gig, as designer and curator of the new site HomeMint, a breeze. The ease had a lot to do with his partner, Estee Stanley, who is also his friend a decorator. “We’ve known each other for a long time and we just started sort of working on my homes,” Timberlake said, sitting in a suite at New York City hotel The Mercer as he walked me through the fruits of their labor, a home collection cosisting of everything from rugs to pillows. “As to how the two partnered with HomeMint, Timberlake laughed, “I don’t know how this happened.” “It was at gun point, I think.” Stanley added. “There was a tornado, a witch…” said Timberlake. “I’m the witch,” Stanley joked. Their casual, charming dynamic is reflected in the pieces, which look as if they could make a statement in any style of home. It does not, however, demonstrate the work that went into each piece. “We sent those bowls back and forth to each other through fed ex like 5 times,” Timberlake explained, “Just literally having a conversation about the brush effect on the paint. So I’m a nerd.” The pieces, which are limited to accessories like pillows, rugs and tableware for the moment, are inspired by Stanley and Timberlake’s mutual interest in neutral colors (”I mean, look at how we’re both dressed,” Stanley said, pointing at their white, beige and light blue outfits), “making a house very cozy” and European design. Timberlake credits his “really freakishly weird life thus far” with the fusion of European countries he cites as his inspiration, like Italy and France. “My design taste and my food taste kind of live in the same places,” he added. Italy, France, Belgium, Germany and more countries have influenced the pop star-turned-actor, “I spent time in Scandinavia, we went everywhere when I was in *Nsync.” While the experience didn’t directly encourage Timberlake to pursue design, it has influenced his future path, “I think that [getting to see different cultures] probably had a real effect on why I lean more towards [European] design because you just don’t find cobblestones that easily in Memphis Tennessee. There’s a bunch of dirt roads still.” Dirt roads or not, friends and family have influenced Timberlake and Stanley’s collection for HomeMint. “When I buy things, or when I buy things for my clients, I want them to still have it in 10, 15, 20 years,” Stanley explained, “Like my grandma’s china. I think it’s still fantastic. It is just a beautiful china set, and I have it and hopefully my daughter will love it.” Same goes for Timberlake, who loves heirlooms and pieces with a historical element, “Home décor lends itself to that… it has more of a foundation to it,” he explained, admitting that Stanley helped him to really decorate his own homes using some pieces he already owned. “That’s really curating in my opinion, to come in and take what you already have and show you how to utilize it in a way that A) The aesthetic is more inviting, and B) Makes it more homey.” Fortunately for Timberlake (and Stanley), he won’t have to redecorate when he marries his future bride, Jessica Biel. “I don’t foreshadow any problems,” he said of their future home(s) together, “but then again I don’t like to walk into any situation feeling like there are going to be problems. Lucky for me, we share taste as well.” source: stylist.com |

Hello everyone! I’m Tina Ramchandani, an interior designer from New York. I recently met Holly at the Blogging Your Way Road Trip, here in New York. It was a great weekend filled with inspiring stories and creative energy. Meeting Holly and her guest teacher Leslie Shewring, of A Creative Mint, was a highlight, as I’ve been reading their blogs for quite some time now. Little did I know I would wake up one rainy New York morning to an email from Holly, asking me to cover the launch of HomeMint for decor8 since she was unable to attend.
HomeMint is a home product line designed and curated by musician and actor Justin Timberlake, and his interior designer and friend, Estee Stanley. Before I jump into the details, I have to tell you that this was an amazing opportunity and I am so grateful that Holly thought of me. Wednesday morning was pouring here in New York, and I was not looking forward to the disgusting commute to work. But when I stepped out of the shower, Holly wrote on my Facebook – “I just sent you an email – please respond as soon as you can!” In my inbox I saw the subject, “Are you free to meet Justin Timberlake for me?” Are you kidding me?! Hell yes! I was going to meet Justin Timberlake! You can try and act super cool, and pretend you won’t be excited by such a thing, but once the moment hits, you are so excited! So thank you Holly for making my day, and week, very memorable! This was a total VIP event. Justin and Estee had decorated a suite at the Mercer Hotel in HomeMint products. The line is comprised of many accessory items from a variety of sources, all hand picked by the duo. When asked if they every “argue” about what should be included int he line, they said no, they don’t argue. Instead they question each other, and that their design process is always a continuous conversation. The suite was covered with HomeMint rugs, pillows, baskets, throws and blankets as well as tabletop items and ceramic canisters. It wasn’t hard to see their vision as soon as I stepped into the space. Estee and Justin both noted that the collection reflects their personal styles and that their styles are very similar to each other, so it worked out easily. This is an edited collection, and Justin was quick to point out that as in any other form of art, interior design is never really complete. Up until the very last minute, both Justin and Estee tweak the line, changing and deleting items. One of the most memorable points Justin made was that the design of a room should be constantly changing. Furniture should move, pillows should be switched out, rugs should be replaced. If not, the room does not feel lived in. The pair doesn’t believe in feng shui, instead they feel there is no right or wrong when it comes to design. Justin never tries to “balance” a room as it limits his vision. “Unbalanced looks cool.” Yea it does! I asked both Justin and Estee to pick out their favorite pieces of the collection. Obviously that’s hard to do as so much time and effort was poured into perfecting the collection, but I pressed them. I really wanted to know! Estee pointed out her favorite pillow, which is her favorite because of the nubby textured fabric which has random streaks of color running through it. Justin was all over the place, and really had a hard time narrowing it down! He mentioned the artwork at first. Two pieces in the art collection are images of New York he shot himself. He spoke about the art for a bit, which are all from artists you won’t normally find work from. The pair wanted affordable artwork available to the general public, which wasn’t “just another map.” Yes folks, I think the map trend is really dying out now! He moved on to the baskets and blankets but finally settled on the rugs. The rugs, are Justin Timberlake’s favorite! FYI, Estee let us know that this, talking in circles, was the difference between men and women. Hilarious! She also said, that these differences are what made the collection really work – having a man and woman work together on a home line. They both agreed that more masculine items are the dinnerware and wooden cutting boards. The line will change throughout the year, mostly seasonally with a few new items added each month. The goal of the line overall was not to have everything match. Justin and Estee both wanted to push forward timeless, trendless pieces that will “go” with anything that you have, and will not be considered ‘last season’ a month from now. They’ve done a great job. When we spoke about how to mix up a room, Justin said he tries not to think of one furniture piece as an absolute. He will take that coffee table and move it to the other room to see if it feels right. Estee described alternate uses for many pieces in the line. A blanket can be used as a table cloth, and napkins can be used as hand towels in a bathroom. Always keep your eyes open and see what you can do differently. I asked Estee where she looked to for inspiration for this line. It’s her first product line, and it’s a huge task to get started. She used manufacturers she uses when decorating a home, mostly manufacturers that the general public doesn’t know about. She wanted affordable yet unique items in her first collection. Canvas was one of them, which I am very familiar with. Andrew Corrie, the owner of Canvas, was in attendance and it was a pleasure to speak with him a little bit about the line. He worked closely with Estee to develop the table top and dinnerware portion of the line. The baskets are made by Medina and the bedding, towels and linens are made by Matteo. While both Estee and Justin worked closely with these vendors, the items they supply are available exclusively at HomeMint. It was easy to see the two were comfortable working together. Justin explained their long relationship as having “good shorthand.” Justin described his personal style as simple, while Estee described hers as living in neutral with pops of color. And that, my friends, is what the essence of this collection is. Neutrals, with pops of color. What a great day! – Tina —- source: decor8 |

Justin is featured on the May issue of Sharp magazine for the promotion of his latest Givenchy fragance “Play Sport”. I would have hoped the interview to be longer but the author added an interesting Biblical touch to it, plus you can tell he is a huge Justin fan. The issue is out this week but it’s only available for the Canadian readers. You can buy it in the following locations: If you live outside of Canada you can have the magazine shipped to you (click here for more information) Check out the scans below:

Justin Timberlake and his interior designer Estee Stanley share their favorite decorating tips Last month Justin Timberlake and stylist and designer Estee Stanley announced their new home decor collection, HomeMint.com, with an exclusive Q&A on ELLEDECOR.com. We took the opportunity to ask the duo—who have worked on several of Timberlake’s houses together—for their favorite decorating tips. Justin on styling: At least 40% of the time when [Estee and I] say ‘Oh, that’s never going to work,’ we try it and go ‘wait, hold on, what? That’s really good.’ You have to see things in their environment. Justin on fabrics: Get creative with fabrics—you can change up your drapes using cashmere or wool or plaid, or soften your table setting with different textiles. Think about when you go to a restaurant or store you love—it’s all been thought out so that everything complements everything else. You can do that at home by being conscious of how things tie together. Estee: Towels aren’t all terrycloth now—they’re linen, they’re different fabrics, and they can be used as a tablecloth or a runner. There are so many things you can do with accessories that people don’t always think about. Estee on working with what you have: People need to move their furniture around. One of the first things I do when I start working with a client is put things in different places. There’s always somewhere else where a piece might look better. Justin: Think about the flow of your house. And as Estee said, move your furniture around. One time I moved mine and just left it that way for two or three weeks. I had company over just to see how people naturally moved around it and how the flow of the house changed. You’re creating an experience for yourself that will translate to how you entertain and how you live. source: elledecor |

Last March Justin attended a Viva/William Rast event benefiting the Shriners Hospitals. Check out below an interview courtesy of 20/20 magazine. He has some great words of wisdom to share with us.
Click here to see a bigger version of the picture You’ve got three minutes and three questions. That’s tight but… this IS Justin Timberlake and 20/20 has EXCLUSIVE face-to-face time with him at the William Rast/Viva International Casino Night benefitting The Shriners Hospitals for Children and Prevent Blindness America. Timing is crucial. Security is extreme. Chat-time is slotted right before Timberlake’s due on a makeshift stage to accept a $50,000 donation from Viva’s Frank Rescigna. Here’s hoping our first question is entertaining enough to buy more casual chat for the next two inquiries, William Rast as a lifestyle and eyewear brand and Justin’s dedication to the charities involved. “So. Justin… Am I as tall in person as you pictured me to be?” Icebreaker. The “interview” scenario is immediately dismantled by Timberlake as he ushers us to a seat screened away from security and PR reps, graciously chatting. Here’s Justin: “There have been some charities and priorities in my life rooted to my family’s values, especially as it relates to my uncle, my father’s brother, who was always tuned in to the physical and emotional needs of adopted children. You mentioned lifestyle when you were starting to talk about the William Rast brand but there’s something called real life out there that’s far more important than style and clothing and looking cool. “Life is about looking at yourself and others with dignity. It’s about being given a chance and then having the mental tools to deal with those chances for yourself and others. “I come from a middle class family but I’ve always been aware that even that ‘middle’ can be unattainable for others so we really have a duty to help others get to a place where they impact the world in a positive way. It isn’t a question of just giving. It’s giving back. And that can domino. I have a real privilege. The world watches me and the moves I make. Shouldn’t I make some of those moves in a way that does some good for others?” As for Timberlake’s connection and feel for his part in the William Rast brand? “Hey. You have on Rast jeans! See… The brand isn’t demographic bound and breed. It’s about great clothes that look great and make you feel that way. Same thing with the sunglasses. Cool shades. And equally cool glasses.” At that point Timberlake asks for an exact pronunciation of the word “ophthalmic.” He carefully uses that pronunciation during the check presentation. And… he has one last question for 20/20. “Do you think you could show me where the restrooms are without disturbing the crowd out there?” No problem. Good guy. source: 20/20 magazine |
