I want to wish everybody a Happy New Year. Hope y’all have double the blast and double the fun tonight because we are not only celebrating the beginning of a new year, but also of a new decade.
It’s incredible how time flies… It feels like it was just yesterday when we were all singing and dancing to the beat of Bye Bye Bye.
In the past 10 years, we’ve seen Justin Timberlake grow up and become one of the most relevant icons in pop culture. His music has been a blessing. I’m proud, and I’m sure y’all too, of all the success he has achieved so far.
Ok, I don’t want to make this a long story, so to wrap it up, I hope 2010 brings us lots of cool surprices, happiness, health, and of course lots and lots of JT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy New Year everybody!
AL GREEN’S patient Australian fans owe his neighbour a debt of gratitude. See y’all, it was the neighbourly Justin Timberlake who managed to convince one of soul’s greatest to finally agree to tour here.
The Reverend Al Green – he is the pastor of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Memphis, Tennessee – agreed to be the headliner of Sydney Festival First Night after eschewing the many offers to bring him to Australia for three decades because of the prospect of that long-haul flight from home.
“Justin my neighbour told me that ‘once you get down there, you will love it’. So I took him at his word and I know it’s going to be fantastic,” Green says.

With the exception of the trash bags who dated Jon Gosselin and Tiger Woods, no woman has gone from relative obscurity to household name quite like Gabourey Sidibe. Thankfully for the 26-year-old, her sudden rise to fame is solely based on talent. Thankfully for us, that talent is forever immortalized in “Precious.”
Not only is Gabourey a lock for one of the five Best Actress Oscar nominations, I’m of the opinion that she also deserves to win. Although Gabourey has one stipulation for her golden guy — but more on that in a minute.
The other factor involved in turning Gabourey into a megastar has been the handful of charming, hilarious and totally adorable soundbites she’s given over the last two months. From “The Tonight Show” to acceptance speeches, to meet Gabourey is to fall in love with Gabourey.
And that’s exactly what happened today when we met up at the Duracell Smart Power Lab in New York City. After donating some energy to their New Year’s Eve fund, Gabourey sat down with PopWrap to talk about her crazy year, which ice cream topping Justin Timberlake is like and that aforementioned Oscar caveat.
PW: OK, so what was more awesome about 2009: getting a Golden Globe nomination or having Justin Timberlake announce your nomination?
Gabourey: OK, here’s the deal with that. The way I feel about the Golden Globe nomination versus Justin Timberlake announcing it, it’s like the nomination is That’s How I Roll from Cold Stone Creamery and Justin saying my name is like cherries on top of That’s How I Roll from Cold Stone Creamery.
PW: So what will you do when and if you finally meet him?
Gabourey: Oh, I’m going to pretend to be cool for exactly 10 seconds. Like, when I met Lance…
PW: On the “Jay Leno show,” yeah, we all say [laughs].
Gabourey: How awesome was that?!? I just screamed but then I thought “calm down so you can be friends with him.” So with Justin, I’m going to fake being cool for as long as I can so I can possibly be friends with him, maybe more! [laughs] See, I feel like he’s not going to friend a fan.
PW: Um, you’re peers now!
Gabourey: Are we? Oh please, I’m so not on Justin’s level!
PW: Does he have a Golden Globe nomination? I don’t think so!
Gabourey: True, but he’s got like a million Grammys!
Check out this sick remix of the songs that dominated the charts this year!!
DJ Earworm made a mashup of Billboard’s 25 Top Pop hits of 2009. The song is called “United State of Pop 2009 (Blame it on the Pop)” and featutes T.I and Justin Timberlake’s collab “Dead & Gone”:
…I guess I’m still in time to wish y’all a Merry Christmas. Hope you had an awesome day with your loved ones, blessed by God and of course with lots of presents.
Sorry for the downtime, server was giving me problems again, but everything should be ok now, hope it doesn’t break again, lol.
I was lurking into Justin’s official gallery and came across this gorgeous picture of Justin and his mom and even though it’s kinda old, I thought I’d post it, in case some of you haven’t seen it. And since we are short of news these days, anything counts haha.
They are at a the “JT Shriner’s Open Wives Luncheon”, an event organized to honor the wives of the players golfing in the JT Shriners Open.
The wives participated in a scavenger’s hunt, munched on cakes, appetizers, sipped 901 cocktails, chatted, ran barefoot, and watched the accappela group Mosaic perform. Justin also kindly stopped by to show support for the PGA wives, and give a kind shout-out and hug to his own mother.
The other girl works for the Skin Rejuvenation Center in LA which helped sponsor the event.
Justin Timberlake is bringing himself back — to the top of our male trendmaker list. After losing out to the president last year, the singer-slash-actor has regained his No. 1 spot with almost 19 percent of votes in the Footwear News Readers’ Choice survey. Joining him are several familiar faces and a couple of “Twilight” newcomers.
JT continues to be a trendsetter, through both his personal style — picture funky tailored looks with comfy sneakers — and various other ventures, such as his William Rast fashion line and appearances in ads for Givenchy and Sony. But let’s not forget that he’s also an entertainer: Timberlake was most recently nominated for three Grammy awards, including Best Rap Song, and his “Saturday Night Live” appearances have become the stuff of legend.
Check the complete list here.
This man is really rocking the end of decade/year lists. How does he do it ? I guess he is just so perfect haha. Congrats JT!!
Finally something to report lol…
Now that William Rast is expanding, it was only fit to have the official site revamped with a fresh new look. The content is almost the same only it is organized differently. They’ve also added photos of the new stores and the several events that took place this year .
Update: According to jt4breakfast, the video won’t consist of footage from the Shriners concert. They will start filming a real video in January
Timbaland released this video via his Vevo profile. It has parts of the Carry Out performance at the “JT & Friends concert” in High Quality plus some footage from the FSLS tour and previous performances by JT and Timbo,
Also at the end there’s a message telling us to expect the Carry Out music video for January.
Looks like Give it to me part 2, what do you guys think ?
BTW, loved the beatboxing at the end!
Los Angeles (myFOXla.com) – As more and more retail outlets are shuttering, one designer label is expanding… The William Rast clothing line is owned by entertainer Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala.
Mark Thompson has a sneak peak of their first ever LA boutique in this video report.
For more information on William Rast clothing and locations go to www.williamrast.com .
Check out an interview in which Timbaland talks about how it is like to work with Justin, and create songs like “Carry Out”.
The part about Carry Out starts at the 4:16 mark
Timbaland seems to love “Carry Out” a lot, yet he decides to make music videos with other people. Yes, I’m bitter. Can’t handle seeing a track which has had such a great response from the audience and that is a guaranteed hit, being wasted like that. Hopefully we get a video for it sometime in the future!
